I found a neat little site today called imood. Note the addition of a new little feeling indicator on the side of the front page there...
The new previous updates section is now online. I'll probably break the section up by month.

The cold medicine that I took was supposed to make me go to sleep. Instead, it woke me up, at 5:00 in the morning, with a medicine head. I was irrevocably awake. So I decided to add a new feature to my web site, story time. This section chronicles true events in my life. Starting off the section: everyone's all-time favorite, "How the 'Cycle of Death' Got its Name".

At Discovery tonight, I was saying hello to a friend of mine. I warned her that she probably didn't want to sit beside me tonight, because of my sickness.
With that, she shrugged her shoulders and said, "Eh, I'll get sick," and sat down beside me.
I have such good friends. Phil. 1:3 to you all.

Day 2 without caffeine. And day 1 of being sick with whatever it is that's going around. (All I've got so far is a scratchy throat and a mild headache, but I know that it's just waiting to hit.) Maybe it was the wrong time for me to try to kick the caffeine habit. It seems to provide a line of defense for me.
Yesterday, I was reading an article on ESPN's website, and noticed an article by someone from the Elias Sports Bureau. (I think that those guys have possibly the best job in the world...statistics for sports.) Anyway, I was interested in seeing what their web site would look like, so I tried their name followed by a .com. Seems simple, right?
Let's just say that there's a reason that I didn't link to the resulting site. Yikes.
Did some behind-the-scenes modifying of my style sheets so that the new look would be similar throughout the site.

Welcome to version 7 of pressing on! Lots of changes to announce to the site. The first, of course, is the new front page, which includes all recent updates (and thus announcement number 2...the former updates page will just send you right back here).
You may also note the different fonts used throughout the site. In addition to this, I've noted that in the past sometimes I'll have something I'll want to explain without clogging up the page or linking to something. I've figured out a way to do that now: the magic of tooltips! Hold the cursor over the colored text for an example.
This front page will also take on the look of a blog as things come to me. Most of them will probably be too short for the thoughts section. Anyway, here's the first:
I went to the Alabama-Auburn game last night. It was a thriller, and it came right down to the last second. We managed to pull it out, 81-80.
Then I came home...and read about this.
Suddenly, the game wasn't very important anymore.
Today, and probably for a while, Oklahoma State University will be mourning the loss of these people. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
We expect these guys to be around and work their magic on the field or on the court for all four years (or if they're really good, less than that.) There's an air of invincibility surrounding the playing field. Then something happens like this, and reminds us all that life is fleeting, no matter who you are. You never know. Make the most of the time you have.

On the home front, updated the runner to reflect a couple of new interests in my life.

1122productions.com celebrates its second anniversary today. And somehow, instead of getting gifts, we have to give them...specifically to Network Solutions.
And happy birthday to Ricky's fiancé Tammy.
The professional page now includes a link to my kickoff chants site. Updated my résumé to reflect my current GPA in the MBA program.

For the first time in a long time, the fight song lyrics site gets some lovin'.
Hyperlinked the image on the index page to go straight to the story behind pressing on. Also, changed that page itself...I wrote it over a year and a half ago, so it needed to be modified.
