2000 - Week 7
The inconsistency continues this year. From someone who went to this game, let's just say that this was a major disappointment after last week. Here are the facts:
- Of course, this is Tennessee's sixth straight win over Alabama, marking the first time ever that a team has beaten Alabama six straight times in six straight seasons.
- This is only the fifth time Alabama has started a season 3-4. The last time was - you guessed it - 1990.
- This is the second 20-10 loss Alabama has experienced, the other being in 1982 to LSU. Alabama has scored 10 points in a game 26 times and is 16-10 in those games. It has given up 20 points in a game 31 times and is 10-21 in those games.
- This is the 14th time Alabama has lost by exactly 10 points in a game. It marks the 22nd time that exactly 30 points were scored by the two teams. Alabama is 12-10 in those games.
- Bama is now 9-7-3 on October 21st.
- Bama's record against Tennessee is now 42-33-8 on the field, and in Knoxville, their record is now 19-18-1.
- This is the third time this year that Alabama has lost a game by double digits. It marks the third time in four years that Alabama has lost three or more games by 10 points or more.
Up Next - Central Florida
Well, we get a breather (supposedly) from SEC play. UCF comes into this game with a better record than we do. Homecoming is this week, which is something to be thankful for. Here's something of interest about our opponent:
- This will be Alabama's first time to ever play UCF. As a result, the Golden Knights will be the 112th different opponent to take the field against the Crimson Tide.
