2001 - Week 9
All right! I'll take it! Especially considering that this time we won the game in the fourth quarter. Here's more info...
- Bama wins against Mississippi State for the 67th time; it's the most wins against one school for Alabama. Alabama has also played Mississippi State more times than any other opponent (86) and scored more points against them than any other opponent (1881, 23 more than against Vanderbilt). Mississippi State has scored the fourth-most points against us of any team (882; Tennessee, Auburn, Vanderbilt).
- However, it only marks the second win in the last six games for Bama against State.
- The Tide moves its record against MSU in Tuscaloosa to 36-9-1. That's the most wins in Tuscaloosa for Bama against any opponent. Ole Miss is second with 19, and Southern Miss is fourth with 14. Against the three major-college Mississippi teams, Bama is 69-12-2 in Tuscaloosa (.854).
- Bama wins a 24-17 game for the third time (1989 - Louisiana-Lafayette, 1995 Citrus Bowl - Ohio State).

- 24 points marks the most Bama's scored on the Dogs since 1994 (29). It's the sixth time that Bama has scored 24 points against Mississippi State; all are Tide wins.

- Bama's record on November 10 is 9-2.
- It's the third time in history Bama's gone 4-5 after nine games (1951, 1997). Bama won one of the two remaining games in 1951; they lost both in 1997.
