2001 - Week 8
Another loss at homecoming. Sigh. Here's more info:
- Bama is now 67-13-1 on Homecoming games.
- Bama gives up 35 for the second straight week; that's the first time that Bama has given up the same amount of points in back-to-back games since the 2000 Orange Bowl and the 2000 season opener against UCLA (also 35).
- Scary...Bama has given up 30 or more points in seven of its last 20 games, 35 or more in six. They've lost every one of these games.
- Bama drops to 42-18-5 against LSU, and 9-5 against them in Tuscaloosa.
- 35 points marks the most LSU's ever put up on the Tide, and the two-game winning streak matches LSU's longest in this series.
- Bama is now 39-8 when scoring 21 points in a game, and 1-12 when giving up 35 points.
- It's the first 35-21 defeat in Bama's history. Bama's been beaten by two touchdowns 11 times.
- Bama's record on November 3 is 10-4-2.
- It's the third time in history Bama's gone 3-5 after eight games, but the second year in a row (1984, 2000). Neither time previously has Alabama bounced back to win their last three regular-season games.
