Katelyn took her first steps this week while Grammy was taking care of her. Katelyn's Grammy has been working with her a lot this week while I have been at Kidlife (VBS). I just knew she would take those first steps when I wasn't around : ) I got to see her take some more steps today and she has only gotten braver as the day progressed. She is letting go of objects and our hands and just toddling off on her own. Elmo "Mo" has been a very good incentive. It is so exciting and I just can't believe she is walking! Now of course I will worry about her losing her balance and falling, but I know that is all part of learning to walk. Crash helmet anyone?
Katelyn is now a little over 14 1/2 months old and she has decided to concentrate on her verbal skills instead of her motor skills right now : ) It is amazing to hear her repeat words that we say and that she hears. They are really sinking in now. She has also picked up a little sign language that we have taught her along the way. I love watching her learn new things and walking is just around the corner. Enjoy!

I'm always curious about what all I miss that goes on at the house while I'm at work during the day. I think this video sums it up pretty well. It's got everything from Tammy singing to Katelyn yelling to Katelyn playing with one of her favorite toys to Angel playing with one of her favorite toys to Katelyn trying to play with one of Angel's favorite toys.
Over the last month or so Katelyn has gone from scooting and sliding to get to want she wants to actually crawling. Here is a video of each step of the exciting journey to crawling. Our lives have changed once again now that Katelyn is on the move. My day just got a whole lot more interesting!
Apparently Katelyn thinks her Mommy is very funny. Here I am saying "Ah Boo" to Katelyn and she just laughs and laughs. Her sweet laughter is contagious. You can't help but laugh with her.

Katelyn's been busy this last week...
Katelyn tells us all about her dedication. Check out that cute dimple. Just like her Daddy's. She even gives us a 'The End' at the end of her movie.
Katelyn is talking, smiling, and now laughing a lot. She just makes us laugh so hard when she smiles and laughs at her crib mobile, the ceiling fan, or the silly antics that Mommy and Daddy do to try and make her laugh. She is such a joy!
Katelyn has done so many new things in the last couple of weeks that I had hours of video to go through to find some good clips to showcase her new found talents. It so amazing to watch her discover something new. Her little brain is developing more and more everyday. I am so enjoying being at home with her and watching her learn and play. Hope you enjoy!
Yesterday morning I hung this little lion wind chime on the side of the bassinet to see what Katelyn would do with it. To my amazement she was looking right at it and then began batting at it with her fist. It was so cute. Another amazing feat for our sweet baby.
I've been planning this for a while, but finally got time to work on it this weekend!
