Sell Out

I'm not going to lie to you. I hate Microsoft. Anyone who knows me decently well will attest to this fact. I think they use unfair business practices to create a monopoly that will not be broken for a while. Plus, Bill Gates is a geek.

But I must also make a startling confession. Some may call me a sell- out, and they might be justified.

I've switched to Internet Explorer.

Netscape has served me fairly well over the years. My reasoning for using Netscape in the beginning was because it was a much better browser than IE. But in the last year or two, my reasoning for using Netscape was simply to avoid using another Microsoft product. I considered Microsoft the Spawn of Satan, so I used Netscape. Now Netscape is owned by AOL, an equally evil company that I don't like. So my choice cannot be simply based on who makes it anymore. I decided to actually see what IE has to offer.

To my great surprise, I preferred IE. Most of its advantages over Netscape are due to its seamless integration with Win98. While the Feds think this is cheating, it has yielded a better product. So, at least for the time-being, I will use it. I will give Netscape 5 a try when it comes out, and we'll see what happens then.

Oh, and as further evidence of my sell out, I'm editing this page with Word (sit down, Brandon). Just to see what it's like.
