What I Thought About Puppy Chow

Main

(01-14-07) I think it's really funny when people look their dog right in the eye and give them a long, serious speech and somehow think the dog actually understands what they're talking about. Today, for instance, when Angel was being bad, I got right in her face and explained that I know she had just been out, she had already been fed, and that she was just carrying on to try and get attention, and that I was busy and couldn't give her any attention right then, so she needed to lay down and take a nap or go play. I could have just as easily explained to her the inherent differences between procedural programming languages and object-oriented programming languages, and as long as I had used the correct tone, she would have received the message just fine.

(07-27-06) I think it feels really funny when Angel growls so much that the vibrations travel up the leash and into my hand.

(05-22-06) I think sometimes at night Tammy and I play Puppy Pong, where I tell Angel to go see her in the bedroom, and then she tells her to come see me in the office, and we kind of go back and forth until the dog finally just lays down somewhere.

(10-19-05) I think someone has convinced Angel that if she doesn't run around in circles fast enough, the world is going to explode. So I guess it's pretty cool that my dog is a superhero...

(06-10-05) I think sometimes it's fun to, when you're walking across the kitchen floor and you know your hyperactive dog is running right behind you, to suddenly stop and let her slide and smack into your legs.

(05-10-04) I think Angel has finally realized that she's the only dog in our house, so she doesn't have to inhale her food to keep another one from stealing it.

(04-05-04) I think Angel has taken a liking to Reader's Digest. Personally, I would rather her try to learn from it rather than chew on it and rip it to shreds, but at least she's interested in current events.

(04-02-04) I think Angel should probably be doing things like bringing me my slippers and fetching the newspaper, instead of things like running off with my socks and eating bugs.

(12-31-03) I think congratulations are in order for Angel. She passed her Puppy Kindergarden class, and even got a certificate!

(12-10-03) I think that, on those machines you put by your bed that make soothing sounds to help you relax (like rain, the ocean, a forest, etc), they should add one of our puppy drinking water.

(10-23-03) I think if anyone wants to know what it's like trying to put a collar and a leash on our puppy, just watch the rodeos on ESPN2 where they're trying to lasso and tie up the calfs.

(08-04-03) I think everyone should see our new puppy Angel...loads of pictures will be coming soon on a separate page, but until then, see one here!

(07-21-03) I think, for all those people who don't ever go to my actual homepage, there's a picture of our puppy (that we're getting in two weeks) here.
