Pop Century
Pop Century is Disney World's newest resort.  It was actually less than a year old when we were there.  It is one of Disney's increasing popular "value resorts", which means they are the cheapest on the Disney property.  For us, this meant we got all of the advantages of staying on Disney property (free park transportation, early entry into the parks, charging stuff to your room, etc.) for about what you'd pay to stay at a Holiday Inn here in Birmingham.  For anyone who plans to spend most of their time at the parks, and not at their resort, this is definitely a great option and we highly recommend it.  Why pay more for a fancy resort when you're pretty much only going to be there while you're asleep?  Case in point, the resort has three swimming pools, and we never used any of them.  Not once.  It has a nice food court ($12 gets you a souvenir cup that you can refill for free the whole time you're there) and a good gift shop...we bought a lot of our souvenirs there. The decorations around the resort transported us back in time. We even purchased a Lincoln Logs keychain from the gift shop.
