Well, if there was ever any doubt that Tammy (my girlfriend) and I were made for each other, it's all pretty much cleared up now.
Last week I taped Buffy, Angel, and Drew Carey for the two of us to watch this weekend. Saturday when I put the tape in so we could watch it, the tape was eaten by the VCR.
Rather than give up and wait for the reruns like any normal couple, we got a screwdriver, opened up the video case, wound the tape past the part that was messed up, and put the tape back together (this step proved exceedingly difficult, but we eventually got it). We then put the tape in the VCR, and it worked just fine! And to top it off, the damaged part was the commercials at the beginning of the tape before Buffy even started!
I thought I was the only one who would try something crazy like that! It was definitely a two-person job, since one of us had to hold the parts in place while the other screwed the two sides back together.
Okay, okay, so maybe it's not the most romantic story in the world, but I think it further proves that we share the same brain, and I don't think there's a single other girl in the world who would spend half an hour on a Saturday night trying to fix an eaten VCR tape like that. Oh yeah, and to add to the silliness, Drew was the only show we would have actually missed had we not fixed the tape...Tammy had Angel & Buffy taped at school as well. hehehe
